- 8 medium apples
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. red food coloring
- wooden skewers
Directions

1Wash and dry apples.

2Remove stems.

3Insert skewers in apples. Combine sugar, syrup and water in heavy saucepan.

4Mix well. Cook without stirring to 285° on candy thermometer.

5Remove from heat.

6Add red food coloring.

7Hold each apple by skewers and quickly twirl in syrup; allow excess to drip off.

8Put on lightly buttered pan.
