- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 3/4 c. butter or oleo
- 1 lb. caramels
- 1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Mix cake mix, 1/3 cup milk, 3/4 cup melted butter or oleo. Press 1/2 of mixture in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

2Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.

3Remove from oven.

4Melt caramels with remaining 1/3 cup milk.

5After 6 minutes, pour chocolate chips over cake. Sprinkle nuts over chocolate chips.

6Cover with melted caramel. Crumble remaining cake mixture on top.

7Bake 15 to 18 minutes at 350°.

8Cool before cutting.
