Ingredients
- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
- 1/3 c. milk
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. quick oats or regular
- 1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 c. butter or oleo
- 1 c. (6 oz.) chocolate chips
- 1 c. walnuts or pecans
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.

3Heat candies and milk over low heat, stirring frequently, until smooth.

4(Can microwave at one minute intervals until melted, stirring each minute.)

5Remove from heat and set aside.

6Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and egg in a large bowl.

7Stir in softened butter with a fork until mixture is crumbly.

8Press half of this in a pan.

9Bake 10 minutes.

10Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Drizzle with caramel.

11Sprinkle remaining crumbly mixture over top. Bake until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.

12Cool 30 minutes. Loosen edges from sides of pan.

13When completely cooled, cut into bars.
