- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. corn syrup
- 1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 4 qt. plain popcorn, popped
Directions

1Melt butter with corn syrup in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat.

2Add brown sugar and stir to dissolve.

3Cook syrup to hard ball stage.

4To check, drop some syrup into cup of cold water and when it forms a firm ball it is done.

5Takes about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add baking soda, stirring to blend.

6Pour over popcorn; stir to coat evenly.
