- 3/4 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 3/4 c. water
- 1 (14 oz.) can condensed milk
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp. salt
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In heavy skillet over medium heat, cook sugar, stirring constantly until melted and caramel-colored.

3Pour into ungreased 9-inch round or square baking pan, tilting to coat bottom completely.

4In medium bowl, beat eggs.

5Stir in water, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and salt.

6Pour over caramelized sugar; set pan in a larger pan (a broiler pan).

7Fill larger pan with 1 inch of hot water.

8Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.

9Cool.

10Chill.

11Loosen side of flan with knife; invert onto serving plate with rim.

12Garnish as desired.

13Refrigerate leftovers.

14Makes 10 to 12 servings.
