- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar

1Cook brown sugar and milk over medium

2heat to the soft ball stage (230°).

3Remove from stove and add cream of tartar. Stir very little to blend the cream

5Set aside and cool to lukewarm.

6Beat until it thickens to frost cake.
