- 14 oz. pkg. caramels (about 48)
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. melted margarine
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 c. pecans
- 6 oz. chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.

3Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in top of double boiler or in microwave.

4In a large bowl, combine by hand rest of ingredients, except chips.

5Stir until dough holds together. Press half of dough into pan and bake 6 to 8 minutes.

6Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust.

7Spread caramel mixture on top of chips.

8Spread remaining dough mixture over caramel and bake 15 to 20 minutes.

9Cool completely before cutting into squares.
