- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup butter
- margarine, melted
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. (14 oz.) caramels
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Directions

1Combine the fist 6 ingredients; sprinkle 1 cup into a greased 13x9x2-inch pan (do not press).

2Bake at 350F for 10 minutes.

3In the top of a double boiler over boiling water, cook and stir caramels and milk until caramels are melted.

4Pour over crust.

5Top with chocolate chips and nuts.

6Sprinkle with remaining oat mixture.

7Bake at 350F for 10 minutes.

8Cool on a wire rack.

9Refrigerate to set the caramel.
