Caramel Pecan Pie

  • 1 lb. (28) caramels
  • 1/4 c. oleo
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pie shell
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. pecan halves

Directions

    Melt in double boiler the caramels, water and oleo. Gradually add hot caramel sauce to eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla, stirring well.

    Add pecans.

    Bake in uncooked pie shell at 400° for 10 minutes.

    Reduce heat to 350° and continue to cook for 40 minutes more.
