Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup flour, all-purpose
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 13 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 tablespoon orange zest grated
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 3/4 cups sour milk
- 1 each egg whites
- 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
Directions

1Add skim milk to measure 1 3/4 cups.

2In a large bowl combine flour, oats, sugar, orange peel, baking powder and baking soda until well blended.

3Add milk and egg white.

4Stir just until ingredients are moistened.

5Stir in the sunflower seeds.

6Sprinkle a non-stick sprayed 1 1/2 quart casserole lightly with wheat germ.

7Pour batter into casserole.

8Bake.

9If necessary, coverloaf with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking to prevent over-browning.

10Cool in casserole for 15 minutes; turn out onto wire rack.

11Brush top of loaf with honey and sprinkle with additional sunflower seeds if desired.
