Ingredients
- 20 cucumbers (3 1/2 to 4-inches long)
- 1/3 c. salt
- ice water
- 3 c. cider vinegar
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. sliced celery
- 1/2 pod hot red pepper
- 1/2 pod sweet red pepper
Directions

1Wash cucumbers thoroughly.

2Split lengthwise and place in enamelware bowl.

3Sprinkle with salt.

4Add ice water to cover; let stand overnight.

5Drain.

6Put vinegar and sugar into enamelware kettle and heat to simmering.

7Add celery and peppers.

8Put in cucumbers and simmer 3 or 4 minutes.

9Pack into hot, sterilized jars.

10Fill up with syrup and seal.

11Makes 4 to 5 pints.

12Chill before serving.
