Cheddar Potato Gratin

  • 1 envelope Lipton recipe secrets onion soup mix
  • 3/4 c. beer or water
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 lb. all-purpose potatoes (about 3 large), thinly sliced
  • 2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (about 8 oz.)

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Blend onion recipe soup mix, beer and water; set aside.

    In 2-quart rectangular baking dish sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, layer half of the potatoes, soup mixture and cheese.

    Repeat, ending with cheese.

    Cover with aluminum foil and bake 1 hour.

    Remove foil and continue baking an additional 5 minutes or until top browns slightly.

    Makes about 8 servings.
