- 1 c. Quick (not instant) grits
- 4 c. water
- 8 Tbsp. butter or oleo
- 1 c. grated cheddar cheese
- 2 cloves minced garlic (optional)
- 2 eggs, beaten
Directions

1Stir grits into briskly boiling water.

2Reduce heat to simmer & cook for 3 - 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3When the mixture is quite thick, remove from heat and add oleo, cheese, and garlic. Preheat oven to 350°.

4When the oleo and cheese have melted and the mixture has cooled a bit, add the eggs.

5Mix well.

6Pour into a greased casserole dish and bake for about 30 minutes or until firm and golden brown.
