- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. frozen beef or chicken sandwich steaks, separated into 8 portions
- 1 can Cheddar cheese
- 1 jar sliced mushrooms, drained
- 4 (6-inch) pita bread, cut in half forming 2 pockets
Directions

1In a skillet, brown and cook beef or chicken sandwich steaks. Add vegetable oil, onions, mushrooms and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.

2Preheat oven to 350°.

3Heat pita bread on a baking sheet for 5 to 7 minutes.

4Then for each pocket, spoon cheese in first, then meat mixture, then more cheese.

5Repeat until cheese is on top.

6Place back in oven for 5 minutes.

7Makes 8 servings.
