Cheesesteak Pockets

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. frozen beef or chicken sandwich steaks, separated into 8 portions
  • 1 can Cheddar cheese
  • 1 jar sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 4 (6-inch) pita bread, cut in half forming 2 pockets

Directions

    In a skillet, brown and cook beef or chicken sandwich steaks. Add vegetable oil, onions, mushrooms and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Heat pita bread on a baking sheet for 5 to 7 minutes.

    Then for each pocket, spoon cheese in first, then meat mixture, then more cheese.

    Repeat until cheese is on top.

    Place back in oven for 5 minutes.

    Makes 8 servings.
