Cheesy Mac Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (15 oz.) can Green Giant light or dark red kidney beans, undrained
  • 4 oz. (4 slices) American cheese

Directions

    In skillet, brown ground beef and onion.

    Drain.

    Stir in tomato sauce, water, celery, macaroni, chili powder and salt. Bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat.

    Cover and simmer 20 to 30 minutes or until celery and macaroni are tender.

    Stir in kidney beans. Simmer until thoroughly heated.

    Spoon chili into serving bowls. Cut cheese slices into 4 servings.
