  • 2 lb. hash browns, thawed
  • 1 Tbsp. minced onion or 1 Tbsp. dried flakes
  • 1 pt. sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 stick melted margarine
  • 2 c. American cheese or 12 (3/4-oz.) slices
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Mix all ingredients except the potatoes together.

    Fold in potatoes.

    Place mixture in a greased 13 x 9-inch dish.

    Cover with foil and cook at 350° for 1 hour.

    Remove the foil the last 10 to 15 minutes for browning.
