  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. cooled mashed potatoes
  • 1/3 c. melted shortening
  • 2 well beaten eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. Occident flour (approximately)
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Combine potatoes, water and 1 teaspoon sugar.

    Sprinkle yeast on top.

    Let stand until bubbly.

    Add the rest, stirring in enough flour to make a soft dough (not as stiff as bread dough).

    Knead until smooth.

    Let rise until double in bulk.
