  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar (granulated)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling

    Cream together in large bowl the butter and sugar.

    Add eggs, 1 at a time.

    Beat until mixture is light and fluffy.

    Add almond extract.

    Add flour and baking powder.

    Beat well.

    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Spoon onto top of batter 16 spoons of pie filling.

    Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown and cake is done.
