  • 2 c. instant blending flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. liquid shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • chopped nuts
  • cherries

Directions

    Grease four No. 303 cans.

    In a large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients, except nuts and cherries.

    Spoon into cans and bake at 325° for 60 minutes.

    Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans.
