Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) can tart, red, pitted cherries
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. Almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp. red food coloring

Directions

    Place all ingredients in sauce pan and bring to a boil.

    Take 2 heaping Tbsp. corn starch, mix with a little water and stir into cherry mixture to thicken filling.

    Place in pie crust and make lattice strips to go on top of pie.

    Bake 350° for 35 minutes or until nice and brown.
