- 1 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. almond flavoring
- 6 eggs
- 3 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
Directions

1Cream the shortening and sugar together, beating well.

2Add flavoring.

3Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

4Add flour and milk alternately, mixing well. Fold in cherries last.

5Pour into a large greased tube pan.

6Place in cold oven. Bake at 275° for 2 hours.

7When still warm, top with frosting.
