Dill Pickles

  • small firm cucumbers
  • buttons of garlic
  • 1 umbrella dill or 1 Tbsp. whole dill seed
  • 2 qt. water
  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 1 c. salt (not iodize)

Directions

    Pack small firm cucumbers in jars.

    For each jar, add 1 button of garlic and 1 umbrella of dill or 1 tablespoon of whole dill seed.

    Boil water, vinegar and salt (not iodize) for 3 minutes. Pour over pickles while hot.

    (To make sure jars are sealed, can put in cold pack for few minutes.)

    Let stand for 4 to 6 weeks before use.
