- 2 lb. tenderized steak, cut into portions
- 1 (16 oz.) can evaporated milk
- all-purpose flour (for dredging)
- vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can Campbell's beef consomme
- 1 Tbsp. sweet vermouth
Directions

1Dip steaks in evaporated milk, then into flour seasoned with salt and pepper.

2Repeat once (reserve milk for later).

3Fry in 1-inch hot oil over medium-high heat until golden brown or desired crispness.

4Take 1/4 cup drippings, browned; mix with 1/4 cup flour.

5Mix thoroughly.

6Add beef consomme and rest of milk.

7You may wish to use more milk for thickness of gravy you prefer.

8Bring mixture to a very light boil, add sweet vermouth.

9Do not salt gravy!

10May wish to season with pepper.
