- 2 egg whites
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 egg yolks
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In a small bowl, beat egg whites with 1/3 cup sugar until thick and glossy but not stiff.

3Set aside. Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl.

4Add milk, oil, vanilla and egg yolks.

5Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes.

6Scrape bowl frequently.

7Fold or stir egg whites into batter until well blended.

8Pour into 2 greased and floured 8-inch layer cake pans.

9Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

10Cool 10 to 20 minutes before removing from pans.
