- 2 lb. hamburger
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 large onions
- 1 large green pepper
- 1/2 tsp. each: garlic, nutmeg and oregano
- black pepper to taste
- 5 tsp. chili pepper
- salt to taste
- 30 oz. kidney beans
- 30 oz. pinto beans
- 2 bay leaves
- 8 whole cloves
- 6 c. tomatoes in sauce
- 10 oz. tomato paste
Directions

1Brown beef and drain.

2Add oil, garlic, onions, green pepper and other spices except chili powder.

3Add these ingredients to a large pot after steaming in a skillet.

4Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste and chili powder.

5Stir in beans, cloves and bay leaves (drain kidney bean juice).

6Cook at least 1 hour; the longer it cooks, the better it is.
