- 1/4 c. green pepper (optional)
- 1/2 c. onion
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
- salt to taste
- 1/8 tsp. red pepper
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 3/4 to 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 2 (15 oz.) cans chili beans (red kidney beans)
- 1 pt. tomatoes
- 2 cans tomato soup
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
Directions

1In large pot or Dutch oven, fry up onion and green pepper. Next, brown the ground beef.

2When brown, add salt, red pepper, chili powder and garlic salt.

3Stir to blend seasonings.

4Add chili beans (rinsed in colander under running water).

5Then add tomatoes, tomato soup, tomato sauce and sugar.

6Add water.

7Stir occasionally.

8Cook very slowly for 3 hours.
