- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 medium onions, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium green pepper, diced
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1/2 (3 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. oregano leaves
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans
Directions

1Cook ground beef, onions, garlic and green pepper in a 4-quart saucepan over high heat until beef is browned, about 15 minutes, stirring frequently.

2Add chili powder; cook 1 minute.

3Stir in tomatoes with their liquid, tomato paste, brown sugar, oregano and paprika.

4Heat to boiling, stirring to break up tomatoes.

5Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in kidney beans with their liquid; heat thoroughly.
