- 3 onions, chopped
- 3 green peppers, chopped
- 3 large cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 to 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 to 2 cans tomatoes
- 2 to 8 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 can tomato paste
- salt and pepper
- paprika
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. basil
- pinch of cayenne pepper or hot chili sauce
- 1 to 2 cans kidney beans
Directions

1In half an inch of oil or bacon fat, saute onions, peppers and garlic until soft.

2In another pan, brown ground beef.

3Drain the fat from the beef and add the beef to the onion and pepper (or add the onion and pepper to the beef).
