- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sage
- 2 to 3 large chopped onions
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. cumin powder
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 small cans tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 lb. extra lean hamburger
- 1 qt. tomato juice
- 1 qt. chopped canned tomatoes
Directions

1Wash beans and soak overnight.

2Pour off water using fresh water to cook beans.

3Cook beans to partially done.

4Brown hamburger and onions.

5Add to partially cooked beans.

6Add other ingredients; simmer 4 hours.

7Makes 4 quarts.
