Chinese Fried Walnuts

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • salad oil
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

    In a large saucepan over

    reheat to boiling. Cook for 1 minute.

    hot water. Drain. In a large bowl, toss walnuts with

    Meanwhile, in electric skillet, heat about 1-inch of salad oil to 350°.

    With slotted spoon, add about half of the

    the oil.

    Fry for 5 minutes or until golden,

    stirring often.

    With slotted spoon, place walnuts in coarse

    Sprinkle with salt.

    Toss lightly to keep walnuts from sticking together.
