- 1 lb. beef chuck, cut into 3 x 1-inch strips
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. cooking oil
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. green pepper strips
- 1 c. sliced onion
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 2 tomatoes, cut into 8 wedges
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. water
- hot cooked rice
Directions

1Season meat with salt and brown in hot oil in large skillet. Add soy sauce, garlic and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes until meat is tender. Add green pepper, onions and celery. Cover. Simmer 10 minutes. Add tomatoes.
