- 10 oz. stale bread, cubed (about 3/4 loaf)
- 3 c. milk
- 3 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped fine
- 6 eggs
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Bring milk to a boil.

2Remove from heat and mix in chocolate until chocolate is completely melted.

3Blend eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla.

4With a wire whip, stir the egg mix constantly while pouring in the milk to blend.

5Place bread in greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.

6Pour liquid mixture over bread.

7Allow to sit for 10 minutes so bread can soak up the milk.

8Place pan in larger pan or deep cookie sheet.

9Add water to larger pan and bake in a 350° oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
