  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. boiling water

Directions

    Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.

    Add eggs, oil and vanilla. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.

    Stir in boiling water; batter will be very thin.

    Pour into greased 2 (9-inch) layer pans, 3 (8-inch) layer pans or 1 (13 x 9-inch) sheet cake pan.

    Bake at 350° (325° if using glass pans) for 30 to 35 minutes for layers; bake 35 to 40 minutes for sheet cake.
