- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 2 sticks margarine or butter
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine flour and sugar; mix well and set aside.

2Combine water, butter and cocoa in a heavy saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

3Gradually stir into flour mixture.

4Stir in buttermilk, eggs and vanilla.

5Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

6Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

7While warm, prick surface at 1-inch intervals with a meat fork; spread with Chocolate Candy Frosting.
