- 1/2 c. butter flavor Crisco
- 6 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 6 Tbsp. light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 c. and 1 Tbsp. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 or 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Cream together shortening, sugars, vanilla and egg.

3Sift flour, soda and salt.

4Stir into creamed mixture; blend well.

5Stir in chocolate chips.

6Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

7Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.

8Cool on a cookie sheet about 1 minute; then remove to a rack to finish cooking.

9Makes approximately 3 to 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
