- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, grated or chopped
- 3 slightly beaten egg yolks
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour and salt.

2Gradually stir in milk and then chocolate pieces.

3Cook and stir over medium high heat until bubbly.

4Cook and stir exactly 2 minutes more.

5Remove from heat.

6Stir a moderate amount of hot mixture into yolks; immediately return to hot mixture.

7Cook exactly 2 minutes more stirring constantly.

8Remove from heat.

9Add butter and vanilla. Pour into cooled baked pastry shell*.

10Spread meringue atop pie and bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.

11Cool.
