- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 4 tsp. cocoa
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Place in square pan the butter and vegetable oil; add cocoa to butter and oil, then water.

2Bring 1 cup of water to boil.

3Remove from heat; add flour and sugar.

4Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Stir with fork.

5Pour in oblong pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch) greased and floured.

6Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.

7Five minutes before cake is done, make icing (recipe follows).
