Chocolate Pecan Pie

- 1 refrigerated single ready-rolled pie crust
- 4 oz. German chocolate
- 1 c. dark corn syrup
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 c. pecan halves
- sweetened whipped cream
- pecan halves for topping
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Roll out pie crust to fit a 9-inch pie plate.

3Crimp edges decoratively.

4Refrigerate until ready to use. Melt chocolate in microwave container at full power (100%) 3 minutes or in double boiler over simmering, not boiling water. Beat corn syrup, eggs, brown sugar, salt, vanilla and melted chocolate in a bowl until blended.

5Stir in pecans.

6Pour into prepared pie crust.

7Bake in preheated 350° oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until set in center.

8If crust or top is browning too quickly, tent with aluminum foil during the last 15 minutes.

9Let the pie cool completely.

10Garnish with the whipped cream and pecans.
