- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 2 vegetable shortening
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1 c. milk
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 c. pecans, chopped
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Beat shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs, one at a time; mix well.

3Mix flour and cocoa together.

4Add flour and milk alternately; mix well.

5Add pecans and vanilla; mix well. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.

6Let stand in pan for 15 minutes.
