Ingredients: 1 3/4 c. water; 1 c. dry oatmeal (not instant); 1 c. brown sugar; 1 c. white sugar; 1 Tbsp. cocoa; 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips; 1 stick margarine; 2 large eggs; 1 3/4 c. flour; 1 tsp. soda; 1/2 tsp. salt; 3/4 c. walnuts (optional)

1 c. dry oatmeal (not instant)
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 Tbsp. cocoa
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 stick margarine
2 large eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. walnuts (optional)

Directions

Pour boiling water over oatmeal; let stand 10 minutes.

Add sugars and margarine and stir until margarine melts.

Add eggs and mix.

Add dry ingredients and mix.

Add 1/2 package of chocolate chips.

Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle nuts and the rest of the chocolate chips on top.

Bake in preheated 350° oven for about 40 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.

Cool and cut into squares.
