*Chocolate Pie

  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 beaten egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, shaved

Directions

    Mix flour, sugar and salt.

    Bring milk to scalding in a double boiler; add shaved chocolate to melt.

    Then add milk mixture gradually to dry ingredients and stir constantly until filling thickens.

    To this, add beaten egg yolks and butter or margarine. Continue to cook for 5 more minutes.

    Add vanilla and cool.

    Pour into baked 9-inch pie shell and cover with meringue.
