  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/4 c. milk

    Cream sugar, shortening and margarine. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients together 3 times. Alternately add milk and dry ingredients to sugar mixture 3 times. Add vanilla last. Bake at 325° for 80 to 90 minutes or until done.
