  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs (3/4 c. whites and 1/2 cup yolks)
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 c. milk

    Cream butter and Crisco.

    Add sugar gradually, then add egg yolks.

    Mix dry ingredients together and add to batter gradually with milk.

    Beat egg whites until stiff; fold in batter lightly. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
