- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 c. milk
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar.

2Sift flour.

3Add salt, baking powder and cocoa; sift again.

4Add eggs, one at a time, to the butter and sugar mixture.

5Add dry ingredients, alternating with the milk and vanilla.

6After all ingredients are mixed, beat for 3 minutes at medium speed.

7Pour into a 10-inch greased and floured tube pan.

8Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
