  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

    Cream sugar, Crisco and margarine.

    Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.

    Sift dry ingredients into sugar mixture, alternating with milk.

    Add vanilla.

    Bake in greased and floured tube or Bundt pan at 325° for 1 hour and 25 minutes.

    Remove immediately. Cool.

    Add frosting.
