Ingredients: 2 c. flour; 1 c. water; 2 c. sugar; 2 eggs; 1/2 c. buttermilk or milk and vinegar; 1 tsp. vanilla; 1/2 tsp. salt; 2 sticks oleo or 1/2 oleo and 1/2 shortening; 3 to 4 Tbsp. cocoa; 1 tsp. soda

1 c. water

1/2 c. buttermilk or milk and vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sticks oleo or 1/2 oleo and 1/2 shortening
3 to 4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. soda

Directions

Sift flour (optional), sugar and salt together in saucepan. Combine oleo, water and cocoa.

Bring to a boil and pour over flour mix.

In another bowl, mix eggs, soda, buttermilk and vanilla.

Add flour mix and blend well.

Pour into greased and floured 10 1/2 x 12 1/2-inch jelly roll pan or 9 x 13-inch or 11 x 7-inch or 17 1/2 x 11 1/4-inch.

Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.
