  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 eggs

Directions

    In saucepan, add and cook to boiling point first 4 ingredients.

    Sift flour and sugar and add to chocolate mixture. Add last ingredients and mix well.

    Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes in greased cake pan.
