- 1 doz. medium-sized onions
- 1 doz. sweet green peppers
- 1 doz. sweet red peppers
- 4 qt. chopped cabbage
- 2 qt. chopped green tomatoes
- 1/2 c. salt
- 5 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. ground mustard
- 4 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 Tbsp. turmeric
- 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 3 Tbsp. celery seed
- 2 Tbsp. whole mixed pickling spices, tied in bag
- 2 1/2 qt. vinegar
Directions

1Chop onions and peppers fine.

2Combine all vegetables and mix with salt.

3Let stand overnight.

4The next morning, drain well. Combine sugar, spices and vinegar.

5Bring to boiling point and simmer about 20 minutes.

6Add drained vegetables and simmer to desired consistency.

7Remove spice bag.

8Pack into hot jars and seal.
