- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire
- dash of garlic powder
- 1 (7 1/2 oz.) can minced clams
- 12 thin slices fresh white bread, crusts removed
- melted butter or margarine for brushing on bread (can be prepared day before)
Directions

1Heat oven to 425°.

2Melt 1 tablespoon butter or margarine in skillet.

3Add onion and cook 2 to 3 minutes.

4Remove from heat. Add flour and whisk to blend.

5Stir in Worcestershire, garlic, clams and clam liquid, stirring constantly.

6Cook over low heat until thickened.

7Boil 1 minute, stirring.

8Let mixture cool. Flatten bread with rolling pin.

9Spread each slice with clam mixture.

10Roll like jelly roll, cut in half.

11Place on baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
