- 1 (11 oz.) container minced fresh clams, drained
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
- 1/2 tsp. lime juice
- 1/2 tsp. hot sauce
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- vegetable oil
Directions

1Combine first 9 ingredients in a mixing bowl; mix well. Combine flour and baking powder; add to clam mixture and stir until moistened.

2Heat 3/4-inch oil in a skillet to 350°.

3Drop clam mixture into hot oil by level tablespoonfuls.

4Fry until light golden brown, turning once.

5Drain on paper towels.

6Serve immediately.
